TermDefinition
acquaintances People who are known, but are not close friends.
rapport A balanced, harmonious atmosphere between two people.
risk-taker Choosing to share personal personal information with others that could that could lead to acceptance and earn respect.
passive Going along with whatever is said or done in a group.
aggressive A type of behavior that includes yelling, name-calling, criticizing, pushing, shoving, and possible violence.
assertive When a person uses direct eye contact and genuine expressions gestures to let other people know what he or she thinks or intends to do.
support network Relatives who help each other with child care, parenting, and daily problems.
significant adults Nonparental adults who play some important part in a person's life.
multiculturalism A society with people of diffrent cultural backgrounds.
diversity The unique qualities of people from diffrent cultural backgrounds; another term for multiculturalism.
