| O Blood type | Has two O's for a genotype, has antibodies for both A and B |
| A Blood Type | Has either one A and one O or two A's for a genotype, has antibodies for B |
| B Blood Type | Has either one B and one O or two B's for a genotype, has antibodies for A |
| AB Blood Type | Has both A and B for a genotype, has no antibodies |
| Dominant Allele | An allele that will cover a recessive allele |
| Recessive Allele | An allele that will be covered by a dominat allele |
| Sex Linked Disorders | A disorder linked to the X or Y chromosome |
| Nondisjunction | An error in the meiotic spinadal's distribution of chromosomes |
| Aneuploidy | When the offspring will have an abnormal chromosome number |
| Trisomy | When one extra chromosome pair exists |
| Monosomy | When one less chromosome pair exists |
| Polyploidy | A term for more than two complete chromosome sets are added or subtracted |
| Triploidy | Where three chromosome sets are added or subtracted |
| Tetraploidy | Where four chromosome sets are added or subtracted |
| Deletion | A centromere is lost during cell division |
| Duplication | A fragment that joins the chromosome |
| Inversion | A fragment reverses orientation |
| Translocation | A fragment swapping with another fragment |
| Amniocentesis | Extracting amniotic fluid from the womb for testing |
| Ultasound | A device that uses sound waves to locate and display the fetus |
| Newborn Screening | The checking and testing for genetic disorders at birth |
