What are the 4 main signs of inflammation? redness, swelling, heat, pain
Where are dendritic b-cells commonly found? where the skin is exposed to the environment
What is the name of the fluid between the cells? interstitial fluid
When a cell (or cells) becomes punctured, what does it release? Chemical Messengers- chemokines
When activated, mast cells release what substance? histamine
How does histamine affect the cells of the capillary beds? vasodialation (expand the capillary bed space)
How does vasodialation impact the capillary walls? they become more porous, letting neutrophils and other WBC also known as diapedisis
What do you call the non-specific proteins that float in the blood stream, leak out in the process of diapedisis and attack pathogens that have been introduced into the body? Complimentary system
What do you call the fluid that leaves the capillary bed and creates swelling at the site of the injury/infection? exudate
