| Lips | Gather the food |
| Inscisors | Cut the food |
| Molars | Chew the food |
| Tongue | Forms a bolus and pushes food to the back of the mouth |
| Epiglottis | Folds over entrance to trachea, preventing food from entering it |
| Soft Pallete | Lifts to cover the trachea |
| Oesophagus | Takes food from mouth to stomach |
| Cradiac Sphincter | Entrance to stomach |
| Stomach | Enzymes start to break down food |
| Pepsin | Breaks down protein |
| Renin | Coagulates milk |
| Lipase | Begins to break down fats |
| Pyloric Sphincter | Exit to stomach |
| Small intestine - Duodenum | Emulsify fats - bile Other digestive juices |
| Small intestine - Jejunum | Digestion of protein and soluble caarbohydrates Fats absorbed |
| Smaill intestine - Ileum | Calcium and other minerals absorbed |
| Ileo-caecal valve | Junction between ileum and Caecum |
| Large intenstine - Caecum | Bacteria start to break down cellulose |
| Large intestine - Large colon | Bacteria continue to break don cellulose |
| Large intestine - Small colon | Water, minerals and remaining nutrients absorbed |
