Photosynthisis and Respiration.

QuestionAnswer
What is photosynthesis? A process a cell capturs energy in sunlight and uses it to make food.
What does photosynthesis stand for? Photo= Light synthesis=Put together
How do living things get food? Directly or inderectly from sunlight. EX: Food Chains.
What is an autotroph? A organism that makes it's own food. EX:Plants.
What is a Heterotroph? Organism that can't make it's own food and gets it from other organism. EX:Animals and Humans.
What are the 2 stages? 1st stage capturing sun lights energy.2nd uses the energy from the sun to create food.
What 2 things do cells need? H2O and CO2
After it get the 2 things it needs what 3 things happen? H2O and C02 move to the cholorplasts. A chemical reactionaoccurs and 2 products are produced.
What 2 products are produced? Sugars and Oxygen.
Where is the oxygen released? Through the stomata.
What is the equation for photosynthsis? (If you get this one wrong just keep saying in head) 6CO2+6H2O------->C6,H12,O6+6O2 Light Energy Sugar and Oxygen.
What is respiration? The process cells obtain energy from glucose (sugar)
What do we do in respiration to get energy? We break down food molecules and it releases energy.
What is storing and releasing money similar too ? Saving money in the bank because when you need money you take it out and when you want to store it you put it in.
Where does energy store in our body? In our carbohydrates.
What gets stored in there? Sugars,starches.
What is breathing? The act of air going into and out of your lungs.
What is cellular respiration? It occurs in cells.
What is the connection to breathing and cellular respiration? Breathing in O2 to your lungs.
What are the 2 stages of respiration? It first occurs in cytoplasm where it breaks down cell glucose. Second part needs oxygen and it releases energy for the mitochondria.
What is the respiration equation? (This is a hard question if you do not get it repeat it in your head and try again, remember you are auditory.) C6,H12,O6,6O2--------->6CO2,6H2O+Energy. Sugar+Oxygen Carbon Dioxide and Water
