| incomplete dominance | Phenotype of the inherited trait in the heterozygous individual is half-way between the two homozygous zygotes. (Red + White = pink) |
| multiple allele | traits controlled by more than 2 alleles. |
| polygenic inheritance | inheritance patterns controlled by 2 or more genes |
| sex chromosome | determine the sex of the individual |
| sex-linked trait | traits controlled by genes on the sex chromosomes |
