RNA Nucleic Acid consisting of long chains of nucleotides
Messenger RNA (mRNA) RNA that carries information from DNA to other parts of the cell
Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) RNA that combines with proteins ro form ribosomes
Transfer RNA (tRNA) RNA that carris each amino acid to a ribosome during protein synthesis
Transcription Synthesis of a(n) RNA molecule from a DNA template
RNA polymerase Enzyme that links together the growing chain of RNA nucleotides using a DNA strand as a template
promoters Specific region of a gene where RNA polymerase can bind and begin transscriptin.
introns Portions cut out and discared of pre mRNA molecules
exons Expressed sequence of DNA; codes as a protein
