| Eukaryote | Organisms that is highly organized and has cells containing a nucleus and other membrane bound organelles |
| Host Cell | a cell in which a virus reproduces |
| Immunity | resistance to diseases |
| Microorganism | An organism that is to small to see without use of a microscope |
| Pathogen | an organism or virus that causes disease |
| Prokaryote | a single-celled organism that does not have a nucleus or membrane bound organelles |
| Protist | eukaryotic organisms that cannot be classified as fungi, plants, or animals |
| Resistance | The ability of bacteria to resist anitbiotics |
| Taxonomy | the science of naming and classifying organisms |
| Vaccine | solution containing a dead or weak form of a pathogen |
| Virus | a nonliving, disease causing particle that is made of a protein coat and a nucleic acid |
