labium folds of skin and mucous membranes that cover and protect the opening to the femele reproductive system

ovarian cycle the process by which a femele prepares and releasses an ovum in a series of events
manstrual cycle prepares the uterus for a possible pregancy
follicular phase the phase when a immature egg completes its first meiotic division
follicle a layer of cells that surrounds the immature egg
ovulation the release of an egg from a ruptured follicle
corpus luteum the structure formed when the cells of a ruptured follicle grow larger and fill the cavity of the follicle
luteal phase the menstrual stage when the corpus luteum developes
menstruation when the lining of the uterus and blood from ruptured blood vescles are discharged through the virgina
menopause when the menstruation cycle ends
