QuestionAnswer
What is the I Band? The distance between the end of one myosin (thick) filament in one sarcomere to the end of another mysoin filament in another sarcomere. Contains only actin (thin) filaments
What is the H zone? The area within a sarcomere containing only mysosin filaments
What is the A Band? The area that span the length of the mysosin filament. Contains some actin filament too.
What is the M Line? The midpoint of the sarcomere. Where the mysoin filament binds to
What is the Z line? The ends of a sarcomere. What the actin filaments bind to
What are the two anchoring proteins? Desmin and Dystrophin
What are the two structural proteins? Titin and Nebulin
What are the two regulatory proteins? Troponin and Tropomysosin
What are the two contractile proteins? Actin and Myosin
