Cohesion

CH. 2:2

QuestionAnswer
Cohesion It is an attraction between molecules of the same substance.
Adhesion It is an attraction between molecules of different substances.
Mixture Is a material composed of two or more elements or compounds that are physically mixed together but not chemically.
Solution They evenly distributed throughout the solution.
Solute The substance that disolved.
Solvent The substance in which the solute disolves.
Suspensions Such mixtures of water and nondissolved matrrial are known as suspensions.
Ph Scale Is is used to indicate the concetration of H+ ions is solution.
Acid Is any compound that forms H+ ions is solution.
Base is a compound that produces hydroxide ions in solution.
Buffers Are weak acids or bases that can react with srong acids or bases to prevent sharp, sudden changes in pH.
