Genetics Is the key to undertsnading what makes each organism unqiue.
Fertilization To produce a new cell.
Trait Is a specifc characeristic, such as seed color or plant height, of an individual.
Hybrids The offspring of cross between parents with different traits.
Genes Today, scientists call the factors that are passed from parents to offspring.
Alleles The different forms of a gene.
Principle of Dominance Mendels second conclusion
Segregation During gamete formation, alleles sergregate from each other so that each gamete carries only a single copy of each gene
Gametes Mendel suggest that the one alleles for tallness and shortness in F1 plants must have sugregated from each other during the formation of the sex cells.
Probability is a concept you may have learned about in math class.
Homozygous Organisms that have two identical allels for a prticular gene-TT or tt in this example.
