Cochran questions

QuestionAnswer
Skull bones? Frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital.
Which nerves innervate facial muscles? CN V (mastication) and CN VII (expression).
Where is horizontal mobility greatest in the neck? Between C4 and C5 or between C5 and C6.
What does the thyroid produce? Thyroxine and triiodothyronine.
When do skull sutures being to ossify? Age 6, finished by adulthood.
When do the fonatnels close? Posterior: by 2 months; anterior: by 24 months.
Facial variations in pregnancy? Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) may increase T3 and T4; some women develop the "mask of pregnancy."
What causes the thyroid to become fibrotic in older adults? Decrease in thyroxine production.
Relevant data concerning head injury? Nature of the accident, level of consciousness, predisposing factors, symptoms, medications.
Relevant data concerning headache? Onset, duration, location, character, severity, pattern of pain. Also visual or sinus conditions and treatment attempts.
Relevant data concerning stiff neck? Signs of swelling, fever, characteristics of discomfort, causes, treatment attempts.
Relevant data concerning thyroid problem? Temperature preference, neck swelling, texture of integument, emotional status, eye appearance, menstrual and bowel patterns.
