Cell The basic unit of living organisms
Cell Membrane Forms a barrier between the cytoplasm and the environment
Nucleus Directs all of the cell's activities, including reproduction
Organelle One of the small bodies in a cell’s cytoplasm that are specialized to perform a specific function
Prokaryotic Cells that do not contain membrane bound structures
Eukaryotic Cells that contain membrane bound structures
Cell Wall An outer wall that provides support for the cell and gives it shape in plants
Cytoplasm A gel-like fluid that fills much of the inside of the cell
Ribosomes Structures that function similar to factories to produce proteins
Endoplasmic reticulum Assists in the production, processing, and transport of proteins
Chlorplasts Capture energy from sunlight to use and produce food for cell and only found in plant cells
