What is sexual dimorphism? Males and females show distinctly different appearances.
Intersexual selection? Within a community.
Intrasexual selection? Within a species.
What can natural selection affect? The distribution of phenotypes in a population.
Stabilizing selection? Favors intermediate phenotypes, acting against extreme phenotypes.
Directional selection? Acts against individuals at one of the phenotypic extremes.
Disruptive selection? Favors individuals at both extremes of the phenotypic range.
What is leading to the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria? The excessive use of antibiotics.
