Diffusion Moving from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration
Hypotonic Less solute molecules outside the cell. Water will move into the cell.
Hypertonic More solute molecules outside the cell. Water will move out of the cell.
Isotonic If the concentration of solute is equal on both sides. The water will move back and forth.
Active Transport Energy required to transport

Exocytosis Gets rid of particles
Endocytosis Takes in large particles/liquids by engulfing them
