Cells the basic unit of function and structure of all living things
organelles (parts) are little organs of the cell
Unicellular organism consisting of one cell

Prokaryotic Cells are very simple cells
Eukaryotic Cells more advance cells
cell membrane Regulates what enters and leaves the cell
Nucleus Controls center of the cell
Cytoplasm Jelly-like fluid. Composed of water
Mitochondria Power house of the cell site of cellular respiration(energy release)
Ribosomes site of protein synthesis
Endoplasmic Reticulum Transport materials through the inside of the cell Intracellular highway
Golgi Apparatus (bodies) Packaging center Process, packages, and secrets proteins
Vacuoles storage- water, salts, protein, carbs.
Centriole (In animals cells only) Involve in cell division (DNA)
Lysosomes the clean up crews. Contains chemicals and enzymes necessary for digesting materials
Cell wall (In plants cells only) Provides protection and supports
Chloroplasts contain green pigment chlorophyll use sunlight to make food (Photosynthesis)
