Scalenes (anterior, middle, posterior) : Insertion? Ribs 1 & 2
Action: flexes & rotates neck; elevates ribs 1 & 2 Scalenes (anterior, middle, posterior)
Sternocleidomastoid: Origin? sternum, clavicle
Which muscle inserts @ mastoid process of temporal bone? Sternocleidomastoid
Sternocleidomastoid: Action? abducts, rotates, flexes head
Action is: Depresses the hyoid bone ... what are we (2 muscles) ? Sternohyoid and/or Omohyoid
Sternothyroid : Action? Depresses Thyroid cartilage
Omohyoid: Action? depresses hyoid bone
Platysma: Action? depresses lower lip, opens jaw
Elevates, protracts, and retracts hyoid; OPENS MANDIBLE Digastric
