plasma membrane the cells outer boundry- covers a cells surface and acts as a barrier between the inside and the outside of a cell
cytoplasm the region of the cell that is within te plasma membrane and that the fluid and all of the organelles except the nucleus
cytosol the paert of the cytoplasm that includes molecules and small particles but not membrane bound organelles
nucleus the membrane bound organelle of the cell that contains a cells DNA
prokaryote organisms without a membrane bound nucleus and mebrane bound organelles
eukaryote organisms made up of one or more cells that have a nucleus and membrane bound organelles
organelle well defined, intracellular bodies that perform specific functions for the cell
tissue a group of similiar cells and their products that carry out a specific function
organ groups of tissues that perform a specific function
organ system a group of organs that accomplish related tasks
