What occurs in G1, S, and G2? what phase do all three of these make? G1: cell growth, longesttime the cell undergoes S: synthesis occurs (DNA replication) G2: mitochondria and other organelles replicate, microtubles are made and chromosomes condense
What are the 5 phases of Mitosis? Prophase, Prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase
Explain what happens in each phase.
What is the end result of Mitosis? 2 daughter cells
Define chromatin. The complex of DNA and protein
Define euchromatin and heterochromatin. heterochromatin: not expressed euchromatin: expressed in certain regions
Define kinetochore. the attachment of the microtubles to the chromosome
Define nucleosome. DNA wrapped around 8 Histone Proteins
Define Cytokinesis PRocess in which cleaves the cell
Name the 3 checkpoints of the cell cycle G1/S , G2/M , late metaphase checkpoint
Explain what happens in each check point
