Population a group of individuals of a single species living in the same general area
Density the number of individuals per unit area or volume. i.e the number of oak trees per square kilometer.
Dispersion the pattern of spacing among individuals within the boundaries of the population
Types of Dispersion Clumped, Uniform, Random
Survivorship Curve type 1 (starts off flat, then drops off steeply; old age) type 3 (is the opposite) type 2 is in the middle, a constant death rate.
Life History the traits that affect an organism’s schedule of reproduction and survival (from birth through reproduction to death) 3 variables - when reproduction begins, how often, and how many offspring each cycle.
Density Independent a birth rate or death rate that does not change with population density
Density Dependent a death rate that rises as population density rises, as is a birth rate that falls with rising density
Metapopulation when a number of populations are linked
