Seasonal Variation in Sunlight Intensity earth's tilt causes seasonal variation in the intensity of solar radiation. the tropics experience the greatest annual input of solar radiation, and the least seasonal variation.
Global Air Circulation and Precipitation Patterns intense solar radiation near the equator inititiates a global pattern of air circulation and precipitation. ascending moist air releases moisture, descending dry air absorbs moisture.
Global Wind Patterns air flowing close to earth's surfaces creates predictable global wind patterns. as earth rotates, land near the equator moves faster than at the poles.
