QuestionAnswer
Enzyme Activity Enzymes catalyze reactions of nearby substrates.
Call-to-Cell Recognition Molecules on the surfaces of other cells are "recognized" by the membrane proteins.
Cell signaling A chemical messenger binds to a membrane protein, causing it to change shape and relay the message inside the cell.
Transport of materials Transport protein provide channels for certain solutes.
