What is the job of the skeletal system? Protects the bones, protect the organs, make red blood cells, store calcium, and help with the environment.
Why do we need cartilage? Provides a cushion at the ends of some bones. Prevents bones from rubbing together. Develops in the spongy bone. Joints are places where bones meet.
What kinds of joints are there and how do they work? Moving: A. Hinge, ex: elbow and knee B. Ball and Socket, ex: shoulder and hip C. Gliding, ex: wrist and ankle D. Pivot, ex: ligament Non-moving: Fixed,ex:fixed cranial joint
