Unit 3 Vocab Words

Trophic Levels

Producers Organisms that get their energy from sunlight and nutrients. (Plants)
Consumers Organism that can't get it's energy from sunlight.
Decomposers Organisms that break down dead, decaying tissue.
Trophic Level Position in a food chain.
Food Chain A line of organisms that go from organisms that eats no other species to organisms that eat no other species.

Food Web A web that shows the food chain of animals.
Detritus Dead organisms and waste.
