Where does all energy come from? the sun.
Autotrophs/Primary Producers Plants, bacteria, algae- solar energy to make "food" and store energy. first producers of energy rich compounds
Photosynthesis captures light energy and uses it to make sugars
Chemosynthesis chemical energy is used to produce carbohydrates
Heterotrophs/Consumers aquire energy from otehr organisms-rely on other organisms for energy
Carnivores eats other animals
Herbivores eats plants(primary producers)
Omnivores eats both plants and animals
Scavenges consumes the carcasses of dead animals
Decomposers bacteria and fungi feed by chemically breaking down organic matter
Detrivites feed on detritus particles,chemwing them into smaller pieces
