| Scrotum | A sac which contains testes inside |
| Prostate Gland | Gland secreting the fluids and mucus in which the sperm cells can swim |
| Spermatozoa | Male gametes |
| Vulva | Outer opening of vagina |
| Semen | The mixture of sperm cells and the fluid |
| Vulva | Outer opening of vagina |
| Egg membrane change | To stop the entry of any more sperm cells into the egg cell |
| Clitoris | Sensitive part of vagina above the urethra |
| Orgasm | Feelings of pleasure that man feels during ejaculation |
| Fertilisation | The fusion of the male and female sex cells, e.g. sperm and egg, to form zygote that grows into a new individual |
| Implantation | The embedding of an embryo into the lining of the uterus |
| Zygote's division | Forming a ball of cells, embryo which passes down the oviduct and implants in the lining of the uterus |
| Placenta | After implantation it spreads villi out to the lining of uterus and gets supply of nutrients and oxygen and becomes placenta |
| Umbilical cord | Cord that joins the fetus to the placenta |
| Gestation period | Pregnancy of period between fertilisation and birth |
| Amnion | Membrane surrounding the fetus which contains amniotic fluid, supporting the fetus and protects mechanical damage on it |
| Afterbirth | The placenta that comes away from the uterus wall from the vagina, in a form after birth |
| Passive Immunity | Child's temporary immune system that mother had in the blood which babies cannot produce by themselves |
| Menstruation | The process during a period, where the lining of the uterus breaks down and blood and cells pass out of vagina |
| Follicle | A small group of cells surrounding potential egg together |
| Ovulation | Follicles bursting to release egg, some follicle cells and the fluid into the oviduct |
| Yellow body | Formation of follicle cells which are left behind in the ovary |
| Menopause | When woman's periods stop as her menstrual cycle stops |
| Pituitary gland | Gland which produces hormones which stimulates testes and ovaries, controlling the cycle |
| Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) | Hormone which starts the cycle by stimulating follicle to develop |
| Oestrogen | Hormones secreted in the follicle cells which divide inside the follicle and increase in size |
| Luteinising Hormone (LH) | Hormone which travels to the ovary, stimulating it to trelease egg and stimulating the remaining follicle cells to form yellow body |
| Progesterone | Hormone produced by the yellow body which makes the uterus lining to thicken even more and prevents it breaking down. |
| Puberty | The time of development in human life, for the testes to start makeing sperm and follicles starting to develop |
| Secondary sexual characteristics | Developing characteristics when sex organs are active and they start to produce sex hormones |
| Adolescent | The period of time where there is a very often mood changes and increase in sexual urges, which ends at about age of 18 |
| Artificial insemination | The process of collecting semen, placing it in plastic tube into woman's uterus when a man is infertile |
| Birth Control | Couples using method of birth control to prevent pregnancy |
| Gonorrhoea | A minor operation for a woman, where oviducts are cut and blocked and is not reversible |
