| HIV | Human Immunodeficiency Virus - a human pathogen that destroys the immune system |
| AIDS | Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome - when someone who is HIV positive starts to display symptoms such as flu or high temperature |
| Gonorrhoea | A sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacteria which can cause sterility in men and women |
| Lymphocytes | A type of white blood cell which coordinates the immune system |
