Atom Basic unit of matter.
Atomic Nucleus The center of the atom that contains protons and neutrons.
Electron Negatively charged particles located outside of the nucleus.
Proton Positively charged particles located in the nucleus.
Neutron Neutral particles located in the nucleus.
Element A substance consisting of one type of atom.
