Bio Vocabulary List - 2.1

TermDefinition
Prokaryote Simple cell with no nucleus or organelles. Ex: bacteria.
Eukaryote Complex cell with a nucleus and organelles. Ex: plant and animal cells.
Virus Non-living structure with protein coat and genetic material.
Organelle Specialized cell part with its own function. "Tiny organs"
Nucleus Control center of the cell. Stores DNA.
DNA Genetic material found in the nucleus of certain cells.
