Parts of cells

Parts of cell and there description

Worddefinition
Cell- The basic unit of structure of all living things.
nucleus- Directs all the activities of the cell. Found only in eukaryotes.
cell membrane- Holds the cell together and controls what comes in and what goes out.
cell wall- Found only in plant cells allows only certain material to pass and it protects the cell.
cytoplasm- a jelly like substance that holds the cell parts in place.
mitochondria- The mitochondria is the power house of the cell.
chloroplast- they take enrgy from the sun and turn it into food for the cell. It is only in plant cells
golgi body- the golgi body directs the material from the endoplasmic reticulum and distributes it amongst the cell.
endoplasmic reticulm- the endoplasmic reticulum carries material to the different parts of the cell.
lysosomes- they break down the food and dead parts of a cell.
vacuole- stores food water waste and more.
