| Cell Cycle | The growth and reproduction stages of a cell. |
| Chromosomes | Structures that store the DNA. |
| Binary Fission | Process in bacteria where the cell splits into two parts. |
| Interphase | First stage of cell cycle where the cell grows and makes copies of its chromosomes and organelles. |
| Mitosis | 2nd stage of cell cycle where the cell makes another cell just like itself. |
| Cytokinesis | The 3rd stage of the cell cycel where the cytoplasm divides completing the formation of another cell. |
| Chromatids | Two copies of a chromosome. |
| Centromere | The place where two chromatides are held together. |
| Cancer | Uncontrolable growth of cells. |
| Meiosis | Coping process that produces cells with half the usual number of chromosomes. (sex cells) |
| Homologous Chromosomes | Chromosomes that carry the same set of genes. |
| Diploid | Cells that have pairs of homologous chromosomes. |
| Haploid | Cells that do not have a homologous chromosomes (sex cells) |
