Hormone production sequence
A gene is a length of DNA
mRNA copy of the instructions (gene) for insulin is made in the nucleus
mRNA leaves the nuleus through the nuclear pore.
mRNA attaches to a ribosome in this case attached to endoplasmic reticulum. ribosomes read the instructions to assemble the protein.
Insulin molecules are 'pinched off' in a vesicle and travel towards the golgi apparatus.
