How to make a blood smear

Steps to create a blood smear
1. clean your finger with ethonol
2. prick your finger with a needle
3. place a Drop of blood on the end of the slid
4. get a cover slip and push it into the drop of blood at a 45' angle then push it away up the slide to create a smear with a forked end.
5, put ethnol over the smear and allow to dry
6. stain the slide with a leishmans stain and leave for 10 minutes
7. clear some of the stain off with buffered saine solution
8. place a cover slip over the end of the slide you want to look at making sure it is secure and then you are ready to look at it under the microscope.
