Introduction

Term Definition
ecology study of interactions between organisms and the living and nonliving components of their enviroment.
interdependence "interconnectedness"- all organisms interact with other organisms in their surroundings and with the nonliving portion of their environment
ecological model shows and describes the components of an ecoloical system.
biosphere broadest, most inclusive level of organization
ecosystem includes all of the organisms and nonliving environment found in a particular place
community all interacting organisms living in an area
population all members of a species that live in one place at one time
