membrane Transport

The key vocabulary that deals with transport through the cell membrane.

QuestionAnswer
Active Transport moving items from low concentration to high concentration using ENERGY
Passive Transport moving items from high concentration to low concentration NOT USING ANY ENERGY.
Diffusion Movement of molecules across a cell membrane from high concentration to low concentration using NO ENERGY
Osmosis movement of WATER across a cell membrane from high concentration to low concentration using NO ENERGY
Cell Membrane cell organelle made of a bi-lipid layer, embedded proteins, and receptors that controls what moves in and out of a cell and communicates with other cells.
Receptor Molecule found on the outside of a cell membrane and is used to send/receive message with other cells.
