QuestionAnswer
Are living things confined to the same laws of physics and chemistry as non-living things? Yes, they obey the same physical and chemical laws.
Define "behavior". Activities as a result of responses.
Define "biodiversity". Is the total number and abundance of species.
Distinguish between inductive and deductive reasoning in the scientific method. Inductive reasoning is mostly observations. Deductive reasoning is mostly construction of experiments to reveal, verify, or negate an explanation of observed phenomena.
What is "peer review" in scientific research? Other scientists attempt to duplicate an experiment given sufficient details. They may dismiss your findings depending on what the studies show or they may duplicated.
What is a blind study? No one in the experiment knows what is occurring in the experiment until the experiment is finished.
Name the parts of a scientific research paper, and briefly state what each part contains. 1. Title, authors, affiliations 2. Introduction ( the question or problem, and exp. is about) 3. Materials & Methods (details of the exp.) 4. Results 5. Dis./ Conc. (opinion) 6. biblio. references 7. footnote (funding, tech. input, consultation, etc.)
