what three groups make up the color wheel? | primary, secondary, and tertiary |
what is a tint? | a saturated color that is mixed with a pure white color |
what is a shade | a saturated color that is mixed with a pure black color |
What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors? | yellow orange and red |
What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? | violet green and blue |
What are the five neutral colors? | black gray tan white and brown |
What are the six types of color harmonies? | monochromatic, analougus, complementary,triadic, split complementary and neutral |
What is a monochromatic color harmony? | Colors that are shade or tint variations of the same hue |
What is an analougus color harmony? | colors located near each other on a color wheel, (neighbors) |
What is a complementary color harmony? | colors across from each other on the color wheel |
What is a triadic color harmony? | Three hues equally positioned on a color wheel. |
What is a split complementary scheme? | one color and two more equally placed from its complement |
What is a neutral color scheme? | any combination of blacks greys whites browns and tans |
