According to the dopamine hypothesis, what causes schizophrenia? Excess of dopamine in the brain or too many dopamine receptors.
Why is dopamine unlikely to be the only cause of schizophrenia? It is unlikely that a single neurotransmitter can cause a variety of different illnesses such as mania.
What type of symptoms do drugs tend to alleviate? Positive symptoms.
According to MRI scans, how are brains of schizophrenia sufferers different from normal people? Schizophrenics have decreased brain weight.
One of the main problems with neuroanatomical explanations is... We are unsure whether schizophrenia causes a decrease in brain weight or the other way around.
Why can't genetics be the only explanation of schizophrenia? Because the MZ twin concordance rate isn't 100%
