validity: content does it cover all the items?
validity: convergent does the study correspond to other studies of similiar constructs?
validity: discriminant does the study lack correspondence to other studies of different constructs?
validity: predictive does the measure relate to future outcomes?
validity: concurrent does the measure relate to outcomes as you would expect when measured together?
simple random sample randomly pick a subset of a population
stratified random sample or area probability divide the population and randomly sample from the groups
cluster random sample divide the population and randomly select entire groups
nonprobability sampling not everyone has a chance at being selected because it isn't random
convenience readily available group
quota pick participants because they meet predetermined criteria
purposive pick participants based on certain qualities you're studying
snowball participants that already participated recruit other participants
