Color Terms

What is a monochromatic color scheme? A color scheme achieved by using tints and shades of only 1 color.
What is an analogous color scheme? It is a color scheme done by using 3 or more colors next to each other on the color wheel.
What is an accented neutral color scheme? A neutral color scheme with accents of 1 color.
What color scheme is 2 colors opposite on the color wheel? Complimentary Color Harmony
How many colors in a split complimentary color scheme? 3
Name the primary colors? Red, blue, yellow
Name the secondary colors? Violet, orange, green
What is the value of a color? The value of a color is the colors intensity and darkness.
What does the intensity of a color mean? The intensity is the brightness or dullness of a color.
What is the hue? Hue refers to the color itself.
How do you make a tint? By adding white
How do you make a shade? By adding black
What are the warm colors? Red, Orange, Yellow
What are the cool colors? Blue, Green, Violet
What are the neutral colors? Black, grey, white, brown, tan
What is unique about the primary colors.? They make all of the other colors
Name 3 tertiary colors? red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green
What is the proper way to make a tertiary color? By mixing equal parts of a primary and a secondary color.
What is the proper name for a tertiary color? intermediate colors
What is a triadic color scheme? When 3 colors are equal distance on from each other on the color wheel.
