Term | Definition |

Department Stores | They sell a variety of products and may offer a number of customer services, such as free delivery or repairs. |
Specialty Stores | They usually sell one type of merchandise such as shoes, candles,or hats. |
Discount Stores | They but in large quantities and limit customer services and clerks, with prices usually lower than department stores. |
Factory Outlets | Manufacturers sell their products directly to shoppers at these stores. Prices are lower than Dept. Stores and the product may have flaws or be discontinued. |
Warehouse Clubs | They charge a membership fee, buy in bulk with lower prices than most supermarkets, and offer little or no services. |
Mail-Order Companies | These companies have catalogues you order from. The items are sent to you. Shipping, handling fees and tax can be added to the cost of the item. |
Electronic Shopping | Home shopping and internet offer a variety of products you can purchase with a credit card account. |
Alternative Shopping | Consignment shops, garage sales,, yard sales, flea markets. most likely items are sold as is and can't be returned. |
