Heartburn A form of indigestion felt as a burning sensation in the chest, caused by acid regurgitation into the esophagus.
Hemorrhoids A swollen vein or group of veins in the region of the anus.
Trimesters A period of three months, especially as a division of the duration of pregnancy.
Constipation A condition in which there is difficulty in emptying the bowels, usually associated with hardened feces.
Gestational Diabetes
Placenta A flattened circular organ in the uterus of pregnant eutherian mammals, nourishing and maintaining the fetus through the umbilical cord.
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome A congenital syndrome caused by excessive consumption of alcohol by the mother during pregnancy, characterized by retardation of mental development and of physical growth, particularly of the skull and face of the infant.
Spina Bifida A congenital defect of the spine in which part of the spinal cord and its meninges are exposed through a gap in the backbone. It often causes paralysis of the lower limbs, and sometimes mental handicap.
