heredity The passing on of traits from parents to their children
roles How you relate to other people and how you act in various situations.
culture The ways of thinking, acting, dressing, and speaking shared by a group of people
personality Shows in the way you look, the way you communicate and the way you act. It is the part of you that you reveal to others.
self-concept Mental picture of yourself. Includes your views about your personality traits and about what activities you perform well.
self-esteem The ability to respect yourself.
values Your ideas about what is right and wrong and about what is important in life.
needs Things essential to your survival.
wants Things you desire that aren't essential.
acquaintance A person you meet or greet fairly often but you do not have a close relationship with.
peers People the same age as you
peer pressure The influence you feel to go along with the behavior of your peers.
refusal skills Techniques for resisting negative peer pressure
bully A person who physically or verbally abuses someone and intends to cause injury or discomfort with those actions.
hero A person noted for a special acheivement in a particular field.
mentor The action of being a teacher or counselor.
leader A person with the ability to guide or direct others.
role model People who show you what is expected of you and how to act in different situations.
