What are monocytes? | A type of white blood cell and are part of the innate immune system of vertebrates including all mammals (including humans), birds, reptiles, and fish. |
What are macrophages? | Cells produced by the differentiation of monocytes in tissues.Macrophages function in both non-specific defense (innate immunity) as well as help initiate specific defense mechanisms (adaptive immunity) of vertebrate animals. |
What is a neutrophil? | Neutrophil granulocytes are the most abundant type of white blood cells in mammals and form an essential part of the innate immune system. |
What are T-Cells? | T cells or T lymphocytes belong to a group of white blood cells known as lymphocytes, and play a central role in cell-mediated immunity. |
What are B-Cells? | B cells are lymphocytes that play a large role in the humoral immune response (as opposed to the cell-mediated immune response, which is governed by T cells). B cells are an essential component of the adaptive immune system. |
