What are monocytes? A type of white blood cell and are part of the innate immune system of vertebrates including all mammals (including humans), birds, reptiles, and fish.
What are macrophages? Cells produced by the differentiation of monocytes in tissues.Macrophages function in both non-specific defense (innate immunity) as well as help initiate specific defense mechanisms (adaptive immunity) of vertebrate animals.
What is a neutrophil? Neutrophil granulocytes are the most abundant type of white blood cells in mammals and form an essential part of the innate immune system.
What are T-Cells? T cells or T lymphocytes belong to a group of white blood cells known as lymphocytes, and play a central role in cell-mediated immunity.
What are B-Cells? B cells are lymphocytes that play a large role in the humoral immune response (as opposed to the cell-mediated immune response, which is governed by T cells). B cells are an essential component of the adaptive immune system.
