miotics | constrict the pupils |
mydriatics | dilate the pupils |
narcotics/analgesics | relieve moderate to severe pain. meds in this category include opiods(morphine and codeine), synthetic opioids(meperidine), and NSAIDs(ketorolac). |
anticholinergics | cause mucous membranes to become dry; therefore, oral secretions are decreased. example atropine are often administered preoperatively. |
