Type II | rupture of the AC ligament and partial damage to coracoclavicular | sligh laxity, and deformity of AC joint-slight step deformity |
Type III | complete tearing of AC and coracoclavicular, possible involvement of deltoid and trapezius fascia | obvious dislocation of distal end of clavicle from acromion process |
Type IV | complete tearing of AC and coracoclavicular and tearing of deltoid and trapezius fascia | posterior clavicle displacement into the upper fibers of the trapezius |
Type V | Same as IV | displacement of clavicle from acromion one to 3 times height of clavicle when compared to opp limb, clavicle post displacedw/ stripping away of deltoid-trapezius aponeurosis |
Type VI | Same as IV | displacment of clavicle inferiorly under coracoid(possible involvement of brachial plexus) |
Type I | slight to partial damage to AC ligament and capsule | point tenderness over AC joint, no laxity or deformity noted |
