Horizontal angulation | Doing this incorrectly results in overlapping the proximal structures. |
Horizontal bitewing radiograph | The long dimension of the film packet is positioned horizontally. |
Interproximal radiograph | Same as a BWX. |
Negative angulation | Achieved by pointing the tip or end of the PID upward from a horizontal plane. |
Overlap | The structure of one tooth, superimposed over another. |
Point of entry | The spot at which the central beam of radiation is directed on the face during an intraoral exposure. |
Positive angulation | Achieved by pointing the tip or end of the PID downward from a horizontal plane. |
Vertical angulation | Achieved by directing the PID upward or downward. |
Vertical bitewing radiograph | The long dimention of the film packet is positioned vertically, resulting in seeing more periodontium on the film. |
