Tides | They are the regular rising and falling of the oceans surface caused mostly by the moon's gravitational pull pull on earths oceans |
New Moon | The phase of the moon in which only a dim outline of it's shape is visible |
First Quarter Moon | The phase of the moon when it is one quarter of the way through its orbit and we see half of the moon lighted |
Full Moon | The phase of the moon in which we see the entire moon lighted and it appears bright and round. |
Third Quarter Moon | The phase of the moon when it is three quarters of the way through its orbit and we see half of the moon lighted. |
Asteroid | A piece of rock and metal that orbits the sun |
Sattellite | A body in space that orbits a larger body. |
Meteor | A piece of rock that is smaller than asteroid that enters earth's atmosphere and burns up |
Comet | A ball of ice, rock and frozen gases that orbit the sun. |
Galaxy | A huge system of stars. |
